Updates from District 20: June 14th Edition

Happy Flag Day Neighbor!

Lately, I’ve been hearing deeply concerning feedback from neighbors in Southern Kenton and Boone counties. There is a quiet push for zoning changes that would open the doors for massive data center developments.

Data centers require an immense amount of land, water, and power. Without strict safeguards, they risk straining our local utility grids, driving up electricity costs for everyday families, and changing the rural character of our communities forever.

Our current State Senator chairs the legislative AI Task Force. This is a position that gave him the perfect platform to champion strong protections for rural Kentuckians (which, let's be honest- District 20 is predominately rural). Instead, recent policy changes have actually cleared the path for these corporations, leaving local communities vulnerable. Growth shouldn't come at the expense of the people who live here. As I continue meeting with folks across District 20, I am listening, learning, and ready to take these tough conversations straight to our Capitol to ensure our voices aren't bypassed.
